Why are we better? We build an energy model specific to your home to make sure your heat pump is sized correctly. We then design the system in Mitsubishi's Diamond System Builder to check component and to make sure design ceilings have not been exceeded. Once we are onsite and have your equipment installed, we pressure test to 600 P.S.I and then vacuum down the lines to 500 microns and run a vacuum decay test to make sure the system  is leak-free.  These extra steps are easy for a big company to skip because homeowners are not educated enough about manufacturer install protocols.  Techs are under pressure to move to the next job. 

But the difference between installing well and skipping these critical steps is the difference between a system that runs well for years and one that starts shedding parts after 6 months.  When you vacuum down the pipes that carry the refridgerant, you boil off and remove any moisture in the system. Any moisture that's left by skipping this step combines with the POE oils in the refridgerant and changes to an acid, which then eats away your system parts from the inside. No matter who you buy from, ask detailed questions about their install practices.
